This Video is about 20 minutes and follows a course I did this week regarding Trigger Point Yoga. It uses prickly balls about the size of apples but you will see I did an explanation at the beginning regarding using socks made into balls and actually that is what I am using in the video. So basically it won't cost you anything in equipment.
Trigger points are sensitive areas in the fascia (connective tissue) or muscle that are painful when compressed. When we stimulate the fascia using the balls and other equipment we can help to release these knots and bring hydration and movement to this fascia tissue which is often tough and inflamed. This is a very simplified explanation but by doing classes including this technique we can maybe make our bodies feel looser and more accommodating, especially in Yoga.
There are some contra indications. This is not about battering yourself but using gentle pressure. This particular video is targeting the seat, the back and the belly. Message me if you have any concerns about your suitability for it. It is not suitable for pregnant ladies, for anyone with spinal injuries or abdominal injury.
Give it a try x
